KREX Node Overview

Learn about KREX Nodes and how they support the Kasparex network.

What are KREX Nodes?

KREX Nodes are lightweight helper nodes that support the Kasparex network by pinning dApp files to IPFS/Storacha, caching metadata, and optionally serving as mirror nodes. They are NOT Kaspa BlockDAG nodes and require minimal resources.

Benefits of Running a KREX Node

Running a KREX Node helps reduce hosting costs for the Kasparex platform, increases decentralization and censorship resistance, and earns rewards for operators. Nodes can earn GRID tokens and benefit from KREX multipliers.

Node Types

There are two types of KREX Nodes: Light Nodes (4x multiplier, 0.1% fee reduction) and Mirror Nodes (5x multiplier, 0.2% fee reduction). Mirror Nodes also expose a read-only HTTP API for serving cached data.
